Featured here is a corset that I made for Richard Cooke, costume designer for Hulu’s Harlots season 3.
These are photos of the costumes I helped to make on the HETV series ‘The Nevers’.
In Project Florence I envisioned stage costumes for Florence Welch. The costumes were inspired by the 1980's, mad max and Florence herself. Picture credits to Sadbh Burt Fizgerald.
Featured here are dresses that I made for the Irish National Opera’s production of ‘Ofeo & Eurdice’ back in 2018.
‘Ormindo’ is an opera by Francesco Cavalli and Giovanni Faustini. It was first performed in 1644.The collaboration I was involved in was between IADT Dun Loaghaire students and Royal Irish Academy of Music students. This production set in the 1930's. This production was inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood. I made and designed the daywear for the leading Lady ‘Gloria’ which was a red pair of trousers and a white silk chiffon blouse. I also designed for the make-up artist and the disguises for three leading characters who take on the guise of mystical eastern men.
I collabourated with Dance Ireland in a piece that was performed on Sunday, July 3rd 2016, live in the Pavillion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland. I made, designed and sourced the costumes for a sixteen person strong youth Dance Troupe! These are the pictures. The piece was made in collaboration with the Simon Community and the dancer's movements were inspired by what they read in poems composed within that community.
In my second year of college, as part of a joint collaboration with the Royal Irish Academy of Music on a production called ‘The cunning little vixen’, directed by Lynne Parker. I worked as part of a team to design minor characters and the Hens. Janáček’s ensemble of woodland creatures was morphed into a riotous assembly of faintly animal-derived post apocalyptic human characters with a Mad Max feel.
These are samples of my historic hand knitting projects that I have made as a test run for knitting for film and HETV.
The grey Fairisle is based on a pattern which is circa 1943.
The green and blue wave pattern is based on a victory knit pattern from 1945 from women’s own.
In addition to the historical work I can do, I am also well versed in couture techniques and the creation of luxury contemporary garments.
I made this olive green trench coat.
